About the work
The Lighthouse at Honfleur is an oil on canvas by Georges Seurat, dated 1886. Georges Seurat (1859–1891) developed pointillism, building pictures from small dots of colour, as in A Sunday on La Grande Jatte. His velvety conté crayon drawings are just as admired. The original is in the collection of National Gallery of Art, Washington.
