About the work

A Comparison of Genroku Poems and Shells (Een vergelijking van Genroku gedichten en schelpen) is a work by Katsushika Hokusai. Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849) was a Japanese painter and printmaker whose career lasted some seventy years. His series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, with The Great Wave, made him one of the best-known artists in the world. The original is in the collection of Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
