About the work

Woman with a Red Zinnia (Revery) is an oil on canvas by Mary Cassatt, dated 1891–92. Mary Cassatt (1844–1926) was an American painter and printmaker who worked in Paris and exhibited with the Impressionists. She is known for scenes of women and children, and for colour prints inspired by Japanese woodblocks. The original is in the collection of National Gallery of Art, Washington.
